Religion in the Ecological Age |
The Center's work explores the implications of the environmental crisis for religion. Center conferences focus on environmental justice, population, consumption, and ecospirituality as central themes for today's religious leaders and institutions.
Projects include:
Theological Education to Meet the Environmental Challenge (TEMEC)—a program funded by the Global Stewardship Initiative of the Pew Charitable Trusts to encourage seminaries, schools of theology, and religiously-centered institutions to make eco-justice central to their curricula and practices. |
Spirituality and Sustainability -- five international conferences in Assisi, Italy, focusing on the transformation of religion, economics, law, politics and education as we approach the millennium. |
World Religions and Ecology -- a series of conferences and publications exploring the sources of ecological concern and sustainable practices in major religions. |
