| Creating A Global Earth Ethic |
The Center seeks to foster an earth ethic grounded in an appreciation of the sentience and spiritual depth in all life. We participate in international efforts to establish the ethical foundations of a just and sustainable future.
Projects include:
| Earth Charter -- assisting, as a partner organization, the Earth Council and Green Cross International in developing an effective Earth Charter by soliciting input on values and practices from environmental, religious, and animal protection communities. |
| Ethics Working Group -- providing assistance for the World Conservation Union's (IUCN) Ethics Working Group, including editorial and publishing support for the EWG Circular. |
| Conferences on Ethics -- including "The International Conference on Ethics and Development," "Ethics and Spiritual Values and the Promotion of Environmentally Sustainable Development," and "The New Production Ethic for Agriculture." |
| Animal Protection -- addressing ethical questions about the appropriate use of animals in research, education, and agriculture in light of the emerging earth ethics. |
